NO.035 - 521 SHEIKH RASHID BIN SAEED STREET

This is the first in a short series of photographs showcasing some lower profile / unassuming buildings on one of Abu Dhabi’s main streets: Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Street.

Building No. 521 is a ten storey residential building with a number of retail units at ground level. It’s characterized by the geometric concrete corner balconies (similar in design and colour to the Hamdan Centre [Everyday Icons No.0008]) and the semi-circular balconies positioned centrally on all three of the street-facing elevations.

* A special shout-out to its neighbor which, despite adopting a different material palette and design language overall, has incorporated the same balcony design to create a visual relationship between the two buildings. *
