Many an afternoon has been spent getting lost in the never-ending internal ‘streets’ of Madinat Zayed Mall!

Also referred to by some as the Gold Souk, it is instantly recognizable to most of Abu Dhabi’s residents by the long lines of arches that adorn its exterior, and by the three domes that top the low rise construction (marking atrium within and the main entrance). The arches form arcades along three sides of the mall, providing shade around the perimeter of the building. Screens incorporating traditional geometric patterns and mock wind catchers add to the traditional souk feel.

If you find yourself in the central atrium you can also try out the curved escalators.
