NO. 063 - PUBLIC TOILET BUILDINGS, CORNICHE ROAD

Two different designs for public toilets located in two different parks along the Corniche Road. Each has a unique approach to this typology.

The first example is an oval shaped building with exaggerated ‘structure’. The external geometry continues inside, along with the introduction of natural light filtering through glass blocks in the ceiling. The second example really plays with levels. The top-most level acts as a gathering space, incorporating a table and is shaded by a circular concrete canopy. At ground level there are two accessible toilets, with the main toilet blocks located a level below, accessible by steps.

Architect and completion date unknown.
